My Place in Aggieland is a residential community for
high functioning special needs adults in Bryan/College Station.
It is created for those individuals who are able to live independently and
benefit from having a social network along with community meals and events.
WeBuilt strives to provide a life-long home in a safe, peaceful environment where individuals can live independently, build meaningful connections, and enjoy a sense of community.
Our Approach
Our focus at My Place in Aggieland is creating an environment where independent living and community are accessible and supported for those who may not have the opportunity otherwise.
In tandem with their loved ones and the local Bryan/College Station community, our residents can enjoy new life experiences and friendships that empower them to be successful long-term in community living.
We pride ourselves in offering natural support within the community, as well as a robust set of activities that allow residents to live life to the fullest as independently as possible.
Our Story
The vision for My Place in Aggieland began with a desire to establish a place where special needs adults could call home, enjoy a strong social network, and engage in enriching experiences. Our journey is driven by the commitment to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for all residents.
My Place in Aggieland is a parent-led, community-driven housing initiative designed to provide safe, affordable, and dignified living for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the heart of the Aggieland community. Guided by our core principles of Growth, Resilience, Affordability, Community, Empowerment, and Safety, My Place in Aggieland combines family leadership, private-sector development expertise, and long-term sustainability to create a place residents can truly call home for life.
Next Door Communities
My Place in Aggieland is supported by Next Door Communities, a non-profit public charity established with the purpose of growing the My Place in Aggieland community. Next Door Communities works to establish this model as the standard of living for adults who experience disabilities in Aggieland.
